Vijay Eswaran speaks at the official opening of V-Malaysia 2009 #

Welcome back to The V! This is the reason we started 11 years ago. Our intention was not to create a company, but a way of life. Look at us..we have a virtual United Nations here. We are colourless. Classless. Creedless.

There are more things bringing us together, than dividing us. From so many nations scattered all across this planet, ultimately we are one.

The things that bring us together remain the same. Our hopes, our aspirations, our desires, our determination, our love. What brings us together ultimately, is that despite all of these things that separate us, we are, underneath all of this, one race...the human race. That’s what we celebrate here.I know that we are going to be talking about the fact that we can achieve financial freedom, that we are going to be talking about achieving the business wherever we go, but the business is ultimately and at best, just a vehicle. If there’s one thing The V should teach you, the one message that you take back today, it is CHANGE.

When we come together, we are one wherever we are. When we see each other in different parts of the planet, when we greet each other, we recognise this strength that brings us together over and over again – the fact that we are one.

Why do we do what we do? What is the purpose of V-Con? Why do we come together like this every year? From the very inception, when the concept of RYTHM was put together, this was our goal. This is what that energises us, this is what that renews our faith in each other, and in HIM.

This whole coming together gives us purpose, and for us, who never dreamt that this would be possible one day, for us, every time you come back together, you remind us of why we started this, of why we continue to do this, and where we are going together.

What does V-Con mean? by Vijay Eswaran #

For those of you who began here, this is more than a job. Our work here touches many lives. V-Con is not a convention or conference. It is a life changing event – a spiritual journey where you touch base. It’s for people who want to change their lives.

Whatever you’re working on, whichever department you’re in, you’re either dealing with products, delivery of products, receiving complaints, or giving complaints. Whether you’re on one side of the paper work, or the other, it’s a continuous process. But what you don’t see is how we change lives.

Last year, for V-Con, we had people from close to 100 countries. And it’s an emotional experience. So, this time I want our employees to at least go there and see what we’re doing, and find out what’s so special about this event.

We are here to talk to people about being better at who they are. We awaken them. And that process goes on throughout the world. Not just in Taiwan, or Indonesia, but also across to Ghana and Nigeria and so on. There are people waiting to see what I’ll be writing next, and what comes out in my blogs. Within the day, I get thousands of hits, because they want to download it, read it and get to know how it can change their lives. They come back with questions and there is a back and forth exchange between us. This process is above and beyond just selling products and services. And this is the real reason this company began 11 years ago. When we came together, we didn’t want to just create another company. Otherwise we would have gone ahead and joined another company. When we came together - the original partners, we wanted to change the world. We wanted to send a message out with every product. We wanted to touch lives.

What does Raise Yourself To Help Mankind (RYTHM) mean? It comes in 2 parts. The first part means to raise your position in life, your state in life, to become a better person. The second part is what V-Con is all about. The first part is what YOU do. You help them sell better, do their business out there better. But the second part is critical for those of us who came together to start this company. We wanted to make people go beyond being good at what they do. They basically have to push themselves to be the best they can be. And we started with all kinds of messages and trainings. The culmination of that is V-Con, where we actually get to see them, touch them, feel them, reach out to them. It’s a very powerful, emotional event. There’s one level of people who come simply because they’re grateful for the changes that have taken place in their lives. There’s another level who come to renew, recharge their energy and take it back, because it’ll be another year before they do this again. And there’s a 3rd level of people who come as tourists. But even they go home with a change. Nobody leaves Vcon without feeling something.

We started out with a few hundred people in Bali, in 2001. And today, we’re hitting about 7000. And that’s only because we can’t cope with anymore. So, why do these people come? You are right here, a stone’s throw away from Shah Alam, and most of you are not even going to know that the event came and went. You don’t even know what we do. So, I want you to have a sense of it, to go there, in two or three trips that we’ll organize. Just go out there and be a tourist. See what these crazy people are all about. They’ll be so charged up, so full of energy, some will have tears when they come out of their training room. So, there’s something they are touching that you can touch too, and use to improve your life.

Over the last 2 years, we’ve realized that our employees here, on this side of the counter, also need the kind of inspiration and motivation that we’ve been sharing with so many others in the world. There are a lot of people out there who don’t know who we are. But it’s time to spread our wings. We’re getting big enough to do so. What are you going to do when people start asking about the company? It’s a difficult question to answer, but you’ll get a better idea after touching Vcon, after seeing Vcon.

I strongly encourage all of you to go to V-Con because we’re truly international as a company, and until you go there, see it and feel it, you won’t know. It’s like a mini United Nations. It’ll also be interesting for you to observe how the V partners will be greeted when they go up on stage. That will probably give you a different perspective on how we are to the world. Our world. 5 million people make it big enough to be our world.
