I am on Day 6 of a 10-day juice programme. It’s something my wife and I do three times a year which has benefited our health significantly. A lot of people think a Juicing Programme is about losing weight. Although it does help with your weight, the real purpose of a structured juicing programme like the one we are doing is to detox the system and give your digestive organs a break. This has numerous health benefits ranging from reduced blood pressure and sugar levels, to improved digestion, increase in energy and better focus. Some people have reported that their migraines have disappeared and their skin has cleared up. The impact of the programme depends on what’s in your body that’s getting in the way of its optimal functioning. Here is my daily routine. Morning 🌞 – One full fresh coconut water 🥥Exercise - This is followed by an intense Yoga Practice 🧘🏽 under the guidance of a teacher. Once a week I replace this with a 10k walk🚶🏻‍♂️or a swim 🏊 Noon – Green juice made with green vegetables 🥬 and green apple 🍏 4 PM – Red juice made with red vegetables and red apple 🍎 Evening 🌅 – A warm soup made of blended vegetables 🥬 🥕🥒10 PM – A cup of Herbal Tea 🍵 (No Caffeine)🔴IMPORTANT🔴– It is critical that those who try this programme, do so under the guidance of an experienced Yoga Practitioner, at least for the first time. The first time I tried it, it was the hardest thing to do. The first 3 days are the most difficult as the body is experiencing withdrawal from caffeine and other forms of junk food it has gotten used to. As human beings, food is one of our biggest addictions. To overcome the addiction requires immense self-restraint. Once you get through the first three days, your body adjusts to the programme.
