Vijay Eswaran has been conferred with an honorary doctorate in Management by the SMC University, Switzerland.
At the QI Group’s annual convention, V Malaysia 2011, SMC University Founder President Michael Schmelzer conferred the degree on him and lauded him on his many achievements, key among them his effort building an organization that has helped create several million entrepreneurs around the world. A formal convocation ceremony will take place at the University in Switzerland in the next few months.
“For the kind of achievements Vijay Eswaran has to his name; a successful entrepreneur, a bestselling author, a motivational speaker and a philanthropist, he should be named Time Magazine’s Man of the Year. But, as that would have a time limitation and he would have to give up that title at the end of the year, I would like to present him with something that is far more permanent.” Said Michael Schmelczer, before he proceeded to formally present the degree certificate to him, made out to his official name Vijayeswaran S Vijayaratnam.
