PETALING JAYA: A crowd of more than 200 turned up at the MPH Bookstore in One Utama for a meet-the-author and book signing session by Malaysian-born tycoon and author Datuk Vijay Eswaran.
Vijay’s second book, In The Thinking Zone, was launched last Sunday by MPH Group of Companies director Datuk Dr Abdullah Abd Rahman, who welcomed Vijay as the latest author to join the MPH stable.
"In The Thinking Zone is an invaluable gift to fellow readers.
"I am glad that Datuk Vijay Eswaran had the idea of sharing his thoughts with the rest of the world by presenting them in this book," said Abdullah at the launch.
"Focus on changing yourself, and the world will follow. Focus on changing the world, and you will be just a follower."
This is among the nuggets of wisdom contained in the book, which is accompanied by photographs the author took on his travels around the world. The book’s appeal lies in the thought-provoking truisms that guide the reader towards a proactive life.
A book-signing session by the author saw a long queue snaking out of the MPH retail outlet readers waited for their books to be autographed.
Also present at the launch was his wife Datin Umayal Eswaran, who is the head of Rythm House Publishing Sdn Bhd, the publisher for the book.
Forbes magazine called Vijay’s first book, In The Sphere of Silence "the oddest management book that has a message to contemplate" when it made its world debut in the United States.
He is known amongst his circle of friends as a "corporate spiritualist" due to his ability to balance his spiritual side with his entrepreneurial skills.
He is currently working on his third book, scheduled for release later this year.
