At the Global Indian Business Meet 2012 held in New York from Sep 21-23, Vijay Eswaran was bestowed the New Global Indian (NGI) Excellence Award from Business Leadership and Philanthropy. Eight awards were given to various prominent Indian-origin achievers from several countries in the field of entertainment, ecology, diaspora leadership, manufacturing, travel and tourism and academia.
The guest of honour at the award ceremony was Hon.Robert Blake, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs from the US Department of State.
