Melaka, 21st November 2016 – Malaysian entrepreneur and Executive Chairman of the QI Group Vijay Eswaran was awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award in Global Entrepreneurship” at The 8th World Chinese Economic Summit (WCES), organised by the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (ASLI) during a dinner hosted by the Melaka State Government here on 16th November 2016.
Eswaran received the award from H.E. TYT Tun Datuk Seri Utama Mohd Khalil bin Yaakob, Governor of the State of Melaka. Other dignitaries on stage to congratulate the recipients included YAB Datuk Seri Utama Ir. Hj. Idris bin Hj. Haron, Chief Minister of Melaka, H.E. Dr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Former President of Indonesia, H.E. Ma Ying-Jeou, Former Leader of Taiwan, H.E. Shaukat Aziz, Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and H.E. Professor Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, Chairman of the Asian Peace and Reconciliation Council and Former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand.
The Lifetime Achievement Awards was introduced by ASLI in 2011 to honour individuals who have made significant fundamental contributions in their respective field of work.
“I am honoured and humbled to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the WCES. All the more so as I feel that I have yet so much to achieve and yet some ways to go in my journey. However, in many ways it represents a milestone for the entire team that I represent and for the company and QI Group as a whole. If at all it is an award that should in truth go to them all as they have literally carried me to this point. Thus I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of my team who have in part or whole made this moment possible. My family represents the bedrock upon which I stand and thus this is a recognition of them as well. Most of all I thank the Almighty for His Benevolence and Guidance for this moment”, he said.

Earlier in the day Eswaran had been part of a panel discussing Education and Training, shared his views on driving innovation and entrepreneurship for sustainable growth and the prospects for educational collaboration between China and ASEAN countries.
