QUEST International University Perak (QUIP) organised a one-day business symposium at a hotel in Ipoh earlier this week.
Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah launched the event.
The symposium was aimed at engaging students in digital marketing, and to showcase how it could bridge the gap between different generations, and enable companies to conduct business activities via digital platforms.
Themed “Marketing in Global perspective: Yesterday’s Dream, Today’s Reality, Tomorrow’s Icon”, some 200 business students from various colleges and universities all over the state attended the event.
The symposium was organised by QUIP’s final year Bachelor of Business Administration undergraduates, as part of their final year project.
Renowned speaker Datuk Seri Dr Vijay Eswaran in his keynote address, emphasised the need and ability to innovate, execute, and be a strong role model as part of the traits a 21st century business leader requires in order to succeed.
Vijay is QI Group of Companies executive chairman as well as QUIP’s council chairman.
Also motivating the audience at the symposium were notable speakers, namely Pathman Senathirajah, a successful network marketer, who spoke on “Marketing Across Gen X, Y, Z: Breaching the Techno- Savvy Dichotomy, and Connecting the three Generations”.
Female entrepreneur Mallory Loone spoke on how to bridge the gap between the three generations, and gave insights into what the characteristics, similarities, and dissimilarities were among the three generations.
Besides listening to the various keynote speeches, students had the opportunity to interact with the speakers through a lively, and informative question-and-answer session.
