Last Saturday, 15 December, Vijay Eswaran gave the keynote address at the Global Organisation for People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) convention.
During his 45 minute speech Vijay covered the overall theme for the convention, ‘Partners in Nation Building’ and spoke expansively on why geographic boundaries no longer significantly define how Indian a person is. Indians across the world are still bound together by a common culture and a 4,000 year old heritage that creates a unique sense of brotherhood and belonging. Indians everywhere have been contributing significantly, not only to Indian culture and society, but to their respective countries of birth.
The speech received an overwhelming response from the audience and Vijay was congratulated and nearly mobbed by the eager spectators as he left the stage.
