POPULAR: Entrepreneur Datuk Dr Vijay Eswaran launches the Malay version of his bestseller
KUALA LUMPUR: DATUK Dr Vijay Eswaran’s Menyelusuri Sfera Keheningan, a translation of his original work, the best-selling In The Sphere of Silence, was launched recently at the QI Tower by former president of the United Nations General Assembly and former United Nations Special Envoy to Myanmar, Tan Sri Razali Ismail.
Vijay, the executive chairman of the QI Group of Companies, had authored the English book in 2005.
“Since then, its popularity and incessant demand saw it translated into German, Dutch, Arabic, Bahasa Indonesia and Farsi,” said Datin Umayal Eswaran, the publisher of RYTHM House Publishing, the book’s publisher.
US-based Forbes.com, in its review of the original book, had stated: “This is a small book, quickly read.
“It will probably be the oddest management book you’ll read this year, but it has a message to contemplate.”
At the event, Vijay told his guests: “The human mind is the most powerful creation ever. But it needs to be harnessed so as to exploit its maximum potential.
“I’ve been practising the sphere of silence for most of my life.
“There is nothing new about the philosophies I discuss in this book.
“Silence is an integral part of most faiths on this planet.
“Many historical personalities from Gandhi to Churchill have been known to practice a day of silence as a way of crystallising their thoughts and finding inner balance amid noise and chaos.
“Through this book, I wanted to share the important lessons I’ve learnt over the years through the practice of silence and inspire others to experience its benefits.”
Vijay also took time to autograph the book for his guests, among whom were Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk S.K Devamany.
Menyelusuri Sfera Keheningan retails at RM32.90 and is available at all major bookstores.
